Meet Paige

My name is Paige Schmidt, and I’m a Certified Holistic Health & Transformation Coach trained and certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and the Health Coach Institute (Transformational Coaching Method). I’ve also studied alongside Evelyn Tribole, the author of Intuitive Eating, to deepen my knowledge around the concepts of Intuitive Eating. I coach women to eat intuitively so they can make peace w/ food, feel great in their bodies, and DITCH dieting for good.

About The Blog

This blog started in February of 2011 to share what I eat through the day. I wanted the world to know that you can be healthy and enjoy your calories, while not having to count them at the same time. You can read more about my story here.

In short, from the time I was 13 to the time I was about 19 I counted calories religiously. I spent a lot of my energy and brain power controlling the size of my body and it drove me to feel anxious and indecisive, created a void in my heart, and contributed to the fear that if I weren’t thin  I wouldn’t know who to be.

When starting this blog I said to myself “If I can help one girl change her relationship with food, it will be worth it.” 

I am so proud to say that this blog has inspired thousands of girls across the globe. Healthy Hits the Spot is your go-to place for: self-care, positive body image, and intuitive eating.

I wouldn’t be sharing any of this with you today had I not gone through all the ups and downs myself. I have been through years of struggles with food, but I have finally found a healthy balance that works. I often say to my clients “It’s okay, share whatever is on your heart, I SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE” and it’s so true. I want you to show up here exactly as you are, without the fear of being judged. This is a safe place where we can all get along. I’m so grateful for you!

Fun Facts

I’m in my mid-20’s and am from California.

I’m married to my best friend of 8 years.

I am the founder of Healthy Hits the Spot, and the co-founder of Finally Free.

I love what I do.

I love the Lord.

My favorite kind of drink is something warm & cozy!

My favorite food depends on the season…

  • Winter – warm, comforting, melty, and sweet foods
  • Spring – fresh, bright, colorful, light foods
  • Summer – fruits and smoothies
  • Fall – oatmeal, soups, breads

My favorite workouts are the elliptical, taking a fun gym class with a friend, going for a “wun,” and lifting weights!

My car has a Healthy Hits the Spot logo sticker right on back (tell me if you see it!).

The best way I can think of starting my day is with a great cup of tea, peaceful music, a candle softly burning, writing in my journal, cozied up with my pajamas, a fuzzy blanket, and slippers (and yes, I do this almost daily because I design my days to bring me joy).

I am most definitely a morning person. By night, I am ready to get comfy and be lazy – I’ve always been the first to bed!

I do love to read! Some books that I have enjoyed recently are:

Some things that make me happy are: sweet notes from my friends, a smile, hearing someone say something kind (I love nice people), the color white (so pure and clean), hearing I’ve inspired someone, Noah (my dog), catching up with a friend at a coffee shop, being in session with a client (best part of my job), a delicious bowl of warm oatmeal in the fall, the rain, the beach during summer, a great workout, a clean environment, and, of course, spending time with my friends and my family.

My favorite grocery store is Trader Joes (and Whole Foods, too!).

My ideal closet would include everything from J. Crew, but really discounted.

My ideal house would be born from Pottery Barn. But really I’d be happy living in a Tiny House!

I fill my home with: pillows; blankets; great coffee mugs; simple, clean lines; white dishes; white linens; and an office that is nice and tidy where I do all my blogging and health coaching.
