Times Instead of Meals

Good morning everyone! It’s 6 am, and I’m up to post before I work at 7:30 today. I am wishing you all a great day, with tons of love for yourselves! When you’re getting ready this morning, smile and say something absolutely wonderful about you.

Here is my day of eats yesterday. Instead of putting Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner… I put the times so you can a understand a little bit more how my body works :) I eat small things every few hours.

After my Health Coaching appointment at 11(I love my Clients!), I went to Starbucks to send some emails before my next job. For some reason my internet went out. Thank God it started back up on it’s own and we didn’t have to spend time on it. I cannot tell you how much time Marco and I have spent working on the internet in this Studio… haha

Oh, I got a grande Soy Latte (Tall would have been a better choice for me here, because I have been much more sensitive to Coffee lately. Somedays I don’t even finish my morning cup and that’s all I will have). After I drank this, my body said “you have a bit of a headache – next time you crave this, get a Tall ;)

Geneen Roth encourages us to listen with our bodies, and not our minds. She explains that feelings occur in the body, and fear of feelings occurs in the mind. She also says, “we are not our thoughts.” I loved this part of her lecture because sometimes I feel like my head just goes nuts with thoughts. Anyone else ever feel like this?

Around 2, I was ready for some food, but not quite the soup that I brought. So, I first had an apple, and about 30 minutes later I had my soup.

At 3 I left Ventura and went straight to my next job. While I was there, the Momma made the boys smoothies, and made an extra for me. As far as I know this is only milk and fruit, and it was made with a Vita-Mix… so it was extra good ;)

After I was done babysitting, I picked up Marco and we headed off to Trader Joe’s to do some grocery shopping. Marco wanted to get things for his lunch, and I wanted to get things for Green Smoothie!

When I got home and started putting everything away, I pulled out some Vegetable Broth, Asparagus, Carrots, and Southern Greens that needed to be cooked. I threw everything in a pot with some Bulgar Wheat, Kidney Beans, and extra water and boiled it. Oh, I added two Jalepeno Chicken Sausages from Trader Joe’s too. I basically threw everything that needed to be used in the pot! It turned out good :) This is a great way to not have to throw all those veggies away. I mean, of course, they weren’t bad yet, but a couple more days and I would have had to toss them.

I also prepped green smoothie, and in that I put Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, and Sprouts. To the Veggies I added some berries, almond milk, apple juice, water, banana, flaxseed, and juice plus powder and I couldn’t taste any of the veggies. I am not kidding you – I filled up half that blender with veggies and it’s still purple! How is it not green?! Haha

Annnyways.. I’m off to get ready for work! I hope you all have a wonderful day :)

How do you like when I post with times, rather than “breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks”?

I know what you mean about throwing things together with various veggies! Sometimes I make carrot soup (it’s even better than the TJ’s one!) and other times I make something called “Party Mac & Cheese” (which I found on the blog Meal and Moves). The Party Mac & Cheese is pretty healthy actually as you use lowfat milk or plain unsweetened almond milk/rice milk and only a about 6 oz of cheese with a ton of veggies (almost anything goes: broccoli, bell pepper, zucchini, onions, tomatoes, garlic) and some fire roasted tomatoes & chilies (or leftover low sodium salsa!). Tastes great!

Also, I know what you mean about green smoothies staying purple! It’s those black and blue berries that do it because my smoothie could be 1/2 veggie and only have 1/4 cup blueberries/blackberries and it’s still purpley! Haha. :)

Yum yum yum all of those things sound great! Haha, I’m glad that someone else can relate to the purple smoothie!

I forgot to mention that is a big batch of veggie mac & cheese and that I usually use brown rice pasta from TJ’s…it’s a super awesome way to sneak a lot of veggies into something! :D

Too funny. I’ve made smoothies before that are like a pasty gray color despite all of the greens, and it is definitely mind boggling. ;)

Haha, isn’t it?! So funny – I left mine in the fridge over night and in the morning it was green. What?!
