Two Days

Good morning everyone! I have two days to catch you up on since I wasn’t able to be here yesterday.

12 hour work days can do that ;)

Thursday

For breakfast Marco and I decided on cereal. It’s so good sometimes, isn’t it?

Cheerio’s for him

Uncle Sam with toppings for her

I had Uncle Sam’s (lots of fiber and less than 1g of sugar) with sliced banana, a spoonful of sunflower butter, and almond milk. Yum! This was such a good combo. Better than the almond butter! Either better… or different… I can’t decide… I’m thinking better ;)

I haven’t taken supps. in a while, and when I do, I haven’t kept it up… I am trying to just do a couple at a time to feel the benefits… I started actually taking my B-12 and added in Fish Oil… Anyone take Fish Oil? This one is truly oderless.

Coffee with Half & Half :) No sugar has been fine!

Nails went pink :)

Lunch was leftover Mexican food with avocado and sour cream (actually, it’s non-fat plain greek yogurt)

Snack while babysitting.. Apple and cheese! Anyone ever had this? I used to eat apples and cheese all the time when I was little :)

For dinner Thursday night we went to Marco’s house. These pictures do not do the food justice! I didn’t have my camera, so I used the iPhone. This meal was soooo good! I always feel spoiled when I eat over at this house… such flavorful food. And healthy too!

We stared with a salad that had spring mix, persimmons, mushrooms, candied pecans, and peach/orange dressing.

And for soup, I’m really not sure what it had, but it was delicious! I believe Cheryl told me she made it from a bone broth she had from leftover Christmas meat? Okay, don’t take my word… I could totally be making that up… But, regardless, it was great! Very filling too! I enjoyed it with a roll :)

When dessert came out a simply said I was full, but thank you. You don’t have to make a big deal out of giving up sugar… Just keep it calm so you don’t feel pressure/temptations.. It’s really not a big deal, and if you want to give up the white stuff for a little bit, that is your choice. You don’t have to go and tell everyone you know :) Like I did through my blog ;) Haha! But, you all know what I mean… Plus, this is my place to talk about these things

After dinner, our friends Rodney and Kelsey came over to have wine at my new apartment. It was super fun, and nice to catch up! I lasted until about 11 when my eyes started closing, haha! I’m definitely not a night person!

Friday

Breakfast yesterday was soo yummy… Non-fat plain greek yogurt with banana, a tiny bit of Uncle Sam’s for crunch, and blueberries! My blueberries were frozen, so to unthaw them I stuck them in a non-stick pot on low heat

I also had a side of watermelon

After breakfast I went for a 30-minute run before my Health Coaching appointment. I know I don’t post much about exercise, but for the last few months Marco and I have been really good about getting to the Gym 5 days per week and moving more in other areas of our life. We have started walking/riding bikes more and driving less, and making a habit to move. It feels so good!

My computer has been dying a slow death because of the millions on pictures I have…..

GB’s available before moving 14,052 pictures to a hard drive….

After! Haha, crazy…. I don’t even keep pictures from my blog on my computer! Holy cow!

IMG_2796.JPG

For lunch yesterday I had a turkey sandwich with cucumber and carrots… I have a chip obsession and I’m slowly trying to lesson that… I crave the crunchiness of the chips, so I’m slowly replacing them with other crunchy things.. In the meantime, I’m switching from tortilla/potato (was having both during the Holidays) to veggie chips… hehe…. who else loves chips? It’s a hard habit to kick, and an easy one to pick up!

A snack while babysitting… LARABAR and of course…

Veggie Sticks ;) Plus water, I keep that cup with me all day and re-fill it mannny times

For dinner I made a salad with spring mix, spinach, bell pepper, cucumber, kalamatta olives, avocado, turkey, and goat cheese

Yum!

After I ate dinner I drove 40 minutes to Santa Barbara to work again. I got home at about 11:30 with my head bobbing. More Coffee tonight? How could I not get sleepy when this cutie fell asleep on me for over an hour… she was so happy and cuddley! I get to do the same job today but for even longer!

I LOVE the Omega 3′s from TJ’s as well…i think mine was in the purple bottle and was a blend of the a few different fish, flax, etc oils. No fishy taste, either and for a good price. Thanks for the inspiration to clean up our computers…my mac is sooooo slow! xo!

Hi Paige, just wanted to say what a healthy eating inspiration you are. Your eat such a balanced diet that I really aspire to. I put on about 8kg (I weigh 58 kg, which isn’t much but I’m only about 164cm and I don’t feel comfortable or fit into my clothes any more and my body % is quite high) in the last few years (partly just getting older, even though I’m still only 22, and partly/mostly binge eating). I’m finally realising that it’s my attitude that needs to change and from that everything else will fall into place. Rather then restricting what I eat and bingeing later or snacking constantly even when I’m not hungry or counting calories and feeling guilty going over an arbitrary allowance etc etc I’m trying to eat intuitively and really focus on stopping when I’m full and not eating when I’m not hungry. Anyway, this has turned into a big essay but I just wanted to say I love you blog because coming here gives me so much positive eating inspiration and hope and reminds me I can eat carbs without gaining 10kgs or guilt and it just really helps me, so thank you! :-)
